The rules of Padel
The rules of padel are similar to those of tennis but with some differences:
-
The game is played by 2 to 4 players, with two players on each side of the field.
-
The padel court is smaller than the tennis court, usually 10m x 20m and is surrounded by walls or nets.
-
The service must be performed between the two red lines located at each end of the court, and must be performed with the racket.
-
The player may touch the ball after it has touched the walls or nets, but it cannot touch the ceiling.
-
The ball must be returned before it touches the ground, and it must be returned within bounds.
-
Players can use all parts of the racket to return the ball.
-
The match is won when a player or team reaches a certain number of points, usually 9 or 11.
-
There is a foul counter, and when the number of fouls is reached, the player or team loses the point.
-
There are also specific rules for "let" and "offside" situations, which are similar to those in tennis.
It is important to note that the rules may vary slightly depending on the venue or event where Padel is played, so it is advisable to check with the organizers or referees before playing.
